Another sweet potato update

Thought I would pop back and show how the sweet potato slips are coming on .. I have over a dozen buds so far and 1 that has got off to a head start... once they have leaves on I'm going to twist them off and set them in small plastic tubs so they can get going until its warm enough for them to go outside....

Hubby has been out strengthening the frame for my brassicas today -it now has 3 crates to each side and 2 tubs inbetween -so it is even longer ... just need to get the netting over now....

Tomorrow I WILL be getting some seeds set -think i will start off with the peppers etc as they are sometimes a bit iffy with germination...
Hope everyone is getting ready for the warm weather lol

Thank you for this post MrsM I think I can see where I'm having problems with my sweet potatoes. I followed the advice I found on the web to cut the potato up and to bury the pieces after drying for a couple of days.

Needless to say both attempts have rotted. I shall be buying more sweet potatoes this week and doing what you've done.

Cheers,
Deborah

I have followed your instructions twice and all that's grown is mould ......i give up maybe it was the sweet potatoes themselves

Hi shaz.....
how long have you left them for?
Im puddled as to why you are growing mould....
As you say -perhaps it is the sweet potato -but I have even used "whoopsed" ones and they haven't grown mouldy... what a pain as they are so expensive to buy...
I will look forward to nosying at your blog
