Most tomato seed packets give January-March as the time to start sowing under glass, I'm going for the middle of February to start mine off in my window bottom this year. I started a little earlier this year in my excitement to get started - but then found I had plants that were ready to go out well before the last frosts had gone!!! My plants were slower to get going than my mum who is back in the UK and has 2 greenhouses -but once they got going mine produced much more fruit ;-)

thanks so much for that! i have only planted little plants that i have got from the garden centre before, i have always wanted to grow my own from seeds. thanks mrs m will be giving this a go next year!
