Well, as the title says "its nearly time to start" .... I can't wait much longer -
I have picked up 4 more bags of compost today -not too bad at €6 for 4x40 litres.... I'm trying not to think about how many I'm going to need!!!!
I have sorted out our spare bedroom -we are collapsing the bed so I can put my 2 tables up in the middle of the floor, so I can start all my seeds off in there... it gets a lot of sunshine, so i may as well make use of it. Tomorrow Im going to finish sorting out all my plastic trays and pots I have saved from my groceries and the tubes from the toilet rolls.. Im making a start on setting the seeds on Valentines day -if its good enough for Monty Don it will do for me lol..
Keep your fingers crossed for at least dry weather this weekend as Im hoping to get hubby out and building the arches, coldframe etc

Yep....I'm trying to psych myself up to start a bit of seedsowing. I've just got one of those PatioGro things you mentioned a while back - so, having spent that much money, I'd really better make sure I get my use from it.

I came sooo close to getting the patiogrow, I talked myself out of it as hubby was getting it me as a present but I realised I could get much more for the same amount ... the arches were reduced to €2 each and then the big black tubs etc
Also I managed to do okay with my leaves and things growing in all sorts of tubs...
I don't know if you have a slug problem where you are going to stand it? but I had decided that if I got the patiogrow I was going to see if it was possible to slip short lengths of copper pipe over the feet so the slugs wouldn't climb up!! I don't know if it is possible -but it should help save crops for those who have problems
It won't be long until we can make a start now.... I can't wait

Yep...I do have a bit of a slug problem - so will investigate the "copper" feet...hmmm....goes off with vague memories of standing the legs of beds in summat as a kid because of mosquitos (though my memory might be deceiving me on that) - so if I think along those lines.....
