This year I only grew
- Marconi Rossa, a standard bell pepper and Anheim chilli's, They did rather well, but I have a couple of others I'm going to add to them next year...
- mini mixed peppers
- Purple beauty
I also kept quite a few of the seeds from this years fruits that are now dry and stored in little paper pockets -so plenty of free fruits this year !!

Hi
Tell you what.....I would be interested to know if you have kept any sort of record of how much container space you planted this year and what the "yield" was in total from them all.
I'd also be interested to know what you have done re compost - did you buy bags of compost or what and - more to the point - are you planning to chuck out all the "used" compost after this years harvest and get some more - or have you figured a way to "refresh" your existing compost (I was wondering, for instance, about using rotted down leaves topping up the compost maybe????). What do you think?

Hello Ceridwen
I got all over excited this year -so ran around the garden dropping things into the colander willy nilly -so didn't weigh -this year Im intending to draw up a table of everything :-
each variety -how many seeds set, what date, how many germinate, make it, and then Im going to weigh each plants crop... hopefully that way I can pick the best things to grow next year and what to give a miss -Im hoping to draw a table up on here (if anyone knows how lol). I already know that yellow pear tomatoes give a really good return -I was suprised -and they are gorgeous too!
Some of the compost has gone in the recycling bin -only the tubs that had plants that got the starts disease. The tubs that had beans and peas in will be used to fill the smaller pots for tomatoes etc as the Nitrogen will do them good -but you aren't supposed to plant beans and peas in the same compost again, then the tubs from the tomatoes etc will go into the big tubs to be topped up with fresh compost (and I'm going to throw some of the masses of leaves in from the garden in the middle layer).
I use any compost I can again, things like salad leaves etc don't need over rich compost anyway.
By the way have you seen any seeds on my list on the mouse site that you would like to try?
just let me know and I will get some to you..seems silly to hold on to to them if they can save someone else a bit of money..
Hi
Thanks for that kind offer - I'll have a looksee to see if theres owt I'd like then.

Hi
I wouldnt mind a couple of seeds for beetroot and the sugar snap peas if you have any left - that would be good. I guess I'd only require 2 for each - being theres just me? If you do - then I can send you a P.M. with my address or summat.
Never mind if they've all found good "homes" already - 'twas kind of you to offer.
