Decided to start with tomatoes as they are a fave -plus they need first dibs on "where" they go..
so I have tracked down what kind of tomato they are and split them up into determinate and Indeterminate (now I have figured out what that means lol):-
Indeterminate - grows tall and needs support
- Pink Brandy wine
- yellow Brandy wine
- Purple cherokee
- Yellow pear
- Diplom F1
- Zuckertraube
- Andine Cornue
- Money Maker
- Tigerella
- San Marzano
- Harbinger
- White Sausage
Determinate - shorter, bush/shrub like needing less or no support
- Villma
- Sub Arctic
- Red Alert
- Buissonante
- Principe Borghese
- Maskotka
I'm planning on setting 2 of each seed -so I potentially could have 36 tomato plants -which is why I'm having to make sure that I find room for them all. Even if all the plants make it ...I know none of the fruit will go to waste as any extras get roasted and bagged up and then put in the freezer for pasta dishes through the autumn and winter months.
The Indeterminate obviously need to be next to a fence or close to an arch etc -so I have plenty of places to anchor them as they grow and tie in the trusses -and to protect them from the wind. The determinate ones can be dotted around in any gap I can find -and, if like this year the winds get up -we can run around like loonies bringing them all up near the house for shelter lol

Happy Birthday for yesterday. Only just read through the MSE site so sorry it's a bit late.
Reading your blog has got me trying to sort out my seeds for this year. I'm still waiting for my Suttons catalogue as they will post seeds abroad. May have to look online but I love browsing the catalogues :-D

Hi there
Thankyou for the birthday wishes!
My seeds have arrived at my mums and are now on their way here - I often find its cheaper to get stuff sent to my mum and then she posts them on, than to try and get stuff sent straight out here ;-)
I love a good seed catalogue -Looking on line is ok -but not the same is it?
I just need to get parsnip seeds and thats me done (I think)...
if you are interested in any of the things Im growing feel free to pm me through MSE and I will let you know what spares I have.
